Three radio stations operated by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) were down for more than an hour yesterday afternoon due to a power blackout.

SPH UnionWorks, which runs Hot 91.3FM, UFM 100.3 and Kiss92 FM, said the power trip first affected its newest station, Kiss92 FM. The other two went off air shortly after that.

All three were up and running again by 4pm.

General manager Goh Wee Wang said this was the first time the stations were down, and investigations by the company's technical team are ongoing.

"We apologise for the temporary disruptions and we are still investigating what led to this," she said.

One listener who tuned in to Kiss92 FM during the initial radio silence was student Kelvin Chan, 23. He said: "I was driving home at the time, and when I tuned in, there was no sound. I wasn't upset, but rather curious as to what happened so I wrote on Kiss92 FM's Facebook page."
