Three SPH Magazines Win Awards (ST)

A SUBSIDIARY of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) has won three awards in an annual competition that recognises the best magazine publishers and professionals in Singapore.

Three publications of SPH Magazines received the awards from the Magazine Publishers Association of Singapore (MPAS) earlier this week.

The Peak, a monthly luxury lifestyle magazine, was named Consumer Magazine of the Year in a tie with Ink Publishing's TimeOut Singapore.

The Peak Selections: Domain, which is a brand extension of The Peak, took the prize for the Best Use of Photography/Illustration for the second year in a row.

The annual publication covers high-end design, architectureand homes in the region.

Nuyou, a monthly Chinese fashion and beauty magazine, got the Best Single Article Design award for the story "Anna's Rome" in last September's issue.

SPH Magazines chief executive Loh Yew Seng was pleased with the company's wins, which he said serves to spur the entire industry towards excellence. He also pledged to continue "to build on our strengths and ensure that our publications achieve the highest standards possible to maintain our reputation as the region's Publisher of Choice".

MPAS received 200 entries from 24 companies across its 17 categories.

Winners were judged on areas such as editorial content, design and creativity, photography and illustration, advertising and marketing, digital media, individual professional excellence and overall standards.
