SPH To Give Online Advertisers More Exposure Via Realignment (ST)

SINGAPORE Press Holdings (SPH) is realigning its online businesses in a bid to offer advertisers a wider range of services and improve efficiency.

The strategy involves moving the local directory listings - now managed by subsidiary SPH Search under the Rednano brand - to ST701, an online classifieds unit.

At the same time, - a local Internet search engine - will transfer its mobile advertising offerings to SPH's Internet Business Unit (IBU).

The media group said the consolidation of its directories would give advertisers greater exposure through various electronic platforms under ST701, such as

Ms Elsie Chua, chairman of SPH Search, said the realignment would give the firm greater focus in providing advertisers and users with an integrated platform for classified and directory services.

'Players in the online world have to be nimble in adapting to rapidly changing business conditions to stay competitive. This is why we are realigning our directory search business,' said Ms Chua, who is also executive vice-president of CATS Classified and ST701.

The exercise, which will lead to better deployment of both sales and marketing efforts as well as technological resources, is expected to be completed in about a month.
