SPH-hosted gifts fair draws in crowds (ST)
THIS year's Singapore Gifts and Premiums Fair (SGPFair) - the signature trade event for the industry - hosted by Singapore Press Holdings saw a 15 per cent increase in visitors.
The three-day event, which ended yesterday at Suntec Singapore, attracted 167 exhibiting companies from 18 countries. About 9,300 visitors showed up, 15 per cent more than last year.
It was organised by Bizlink Exhibition Services - SPH's newly acquired subsidiary which also organises the Franchising and Licensing Asia (FLAsia) show.
The acquisition strengthens the media group's foray into the trade exhibitions arena, said Mr Chua Wee Phong, SPH's executive vice-president of circulation and director of Bizlink Exhibition.
'With SPH's support, advertisers and trade exhibitors for SGPFair and FLAsia rode on SPH's multiple media platforms for greater value and stronger mileage for their products and services,' he added.
The SGPFair was held together with Stationery&OfficeLink 2010, which showcases the latest in office products and stationery.
Some innovations on show at the SGPFair included paper made of stone, automated mahjong tables and self-inking rubber stamps made of recycled materials.
