THE magazines unit of media company Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) has appointed a new managing director.

Ms Maureen Wee Kwai Foon will become the new managing director of SPH Magazines' lifestyle division, the company said in a statement yesterday.

She will replace Mr Allen Loh, who is leaving to pursue his own interests, with effect from next Tuesday.

Ms Wee will oversee not only the fashion and beauty portfolio but also the men's and special interest titles, SPH Magazines said in a statement yesterday. Ms Wee is currently SPH's advertisement sales director.

SPH Magazines chief executive officer Loh Yew Seng said: 'We thank Allen for his contributions in the past four years and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.'

He added that with Ms Wee assuming her new role, SPH Magazines 'will continue to meet the diverse needs and interests of our readers, advertisers and business partners'.
