WITH marketing an increasingly challenging task due to the multitude of platforms available, Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) yesterday held its inaugural Media Distillery seminar to lend marketers a helping hand. L'Oreal Singapore's managing director Christopher Neo, Leo Burnett Singapore's executive creative director Chris Chiu and Straits Times deputy editor Alan John were among those who shared their thoughts on how to engage audiences despite the fragmentation of media platforms. Leslie Fong, senior executive vice-president of SPH's marketing division, said: "In this day and age, no one can afford to sit back and do things the usual way. Marketers have the difficult task of engaging their target audience via multiple platforms and maximising advertising returns while managing tight budgets." The full-day seminar - "Connecting with customers - Tips and tricks on getting your message across" - was held at the Raffles Hotel. About 250 people attended.
