SPH ad campaign wins New York award

THE creative services team at Singapore Press Holdings' (SPH's) marketing division has bagged a finalist certificate at the prestigious New York Festivals (NYF). The ad campaign that won the accolade last month was produced by a team led by executive creative director Linda Leong, SPH said.

Called SPH Gift of Music, the award-winning campaign was to promote a concert series sponsored by SPH to bring music to the community.

It was one of the finalists in the corporate image/information category of this year's international advertising competition.

'This year's win is made more meaningful as it is the first in-house ad campaign promoting an SPH corporate sponsorship event which is being recognised at an international competition,' Ms Leong said.

Others in her team include associate creative director Dollah Jaafar, senior copywriter Jade Mok, art director Michelle Teo and senior designer Rachel Chin.

The creative services team is no stranger to winning awards at the NYF. It bagged a finalist award in 2000, a bronze award in 2001 and three finalist awards in 2003. Last year, it won the 'Best Campaign' title at the Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers' Association Advertising Awards.

Founded in 1957, the NYF produces six annual international awards competitions for the media industry, including print and outdoor advertising.
