ALL the magazine titles under Singapore Press Holdings' (SPH) magazines arm will be consolidated under one entity from Dec 1.

The operations of Blu Inc Media and Magazines Incorporated - which SPH bought in 2004 - will be merged with SPH Magazines.

SPH Magazines chief executive Loh Yew Seng said the synergies derived from the consolidation will allow the company to provide better service to customers and business partners.

It will help the company maintain its position as a leading publisher here, he said.

All news-stand titles published by Blu Inc and SPH Magazines such as Her World, Female and Citta Bella will come under the general lifestyle division headed by managing director Allen Loh.

Closed circulation titles such as The Peak and custom publications such as Silver Kris and Kris Shop for Singapore Airlines will come under the specialist publications division headed by managing director Dennis Pua.

Ms Caroline Ngui, group editor-in-chief, will oversee the editorial functions of the entire stable of magazines.

Chief operating officer Lee Kok Chew will manage and oversee the corporate office, strategic planning, publishing services, human resource, legal and corporate communications.

Mr Lee will also take care of overseas investments and new acquisitions including Hardware Zone.

SPH Magazines chairman Arthur Seet said: 'Our strategy to develop SPH Magazines into a world-class magazines business is evolving.'

Mr Seet, who will retire on Nov 30 after 30 years with SPH, said he was confident that with the young and dynamic management team, the prospects for the arm are unlimited.
