SINGAPORE Press Holdings' (SPH's) portal AsiaOne has snagged a bronze award at the inaugural Phoenix Awards for its advertising blitz to promote its revamped website.
It was the only winner in the Web/Internet video (online commercial) category at the Phoenix Awards, also known as the Asia Film, Videos and Digital Media Awards.
The awards were given out at Great World City on Tuesday. The winning campaign was a series of TV ads created for the revamp of the news, lifestyle and business portal. They were for AsiaOne's five main websites - News, Travel, Motoring, Just Woman and Health.
Ms Jacqueline Wu, creative director at the special projects unit of SPH's marketing division, said that coming up with a series of five commercials, each with its own distinctive features and yet in harmony as a whole, was challenging.
'I'm glad that the commercials have been well received both by viewers, as well as by people in the creative circle,' she said.
Mr Paul Jansen, supervising editor of AsiaOne, said: 'It's great to discover that our ads are considered to be of high quality, but even more gratifying was the surge in page views and unique visitors to AsiaOne following the revamp.'
The awards are organised by AdAsia, an advertising and marketing magazine, and is judged by a panel of international experts from the creative industries.
