SPH takes stake in China media venture

SINGAPORE Press Holdings (SPH) has taken a majority stake in a joint venture to provide digital media services, including the provision of online and mobile search services, in China. The joint-venture company, 701Sou (Hong Kong), is 60 per cent owned by SPH's wholly owned subsidiary SPH Interactive International and 10 per cent owned by SPH's 50 per cent associate company 701Search. Fung Choi Printing and Rainbowchina Image Company each owns 15 per cent. The authorised and paid-up capital of 701Sou (Hong Kong), which is registered in Hong Kong, will be $25 million.
