Hardware Zone unit wins exclusive ad deal

Online advertising company clickTRUE, a division of SPH Magazines subsidiary Hardware Zone, has inked an exclusive deal with Advertlets, a firm that organises advertising for a network of blogs.

ONLINE advertising company clickTRUE has inked an exclusive deal with Advertlets, a firm that organises advertising for a network of blogs.

The deal announced yesterday will mean Singapore companies that want to advertise on the many blogs or online diaries in the Advertlets network can do so through clickTRUE.

Advertlets and clickTRUE, a division of SPH Magazines subsidiary Hardware Zone, will share the revenues.

Malaysia-based Advertlets has a network of 25,000 blogs set up in the region that attract a total of 500,000 or so visitors a day.

An SPH Magazines statement said the partnership will 'extend clickTRUE's portfolio beyond offering ad placements in search engines like Google, Yahoo or MSN Live Search and popular social networking sites such as Facebook and Friendster'.

It added that the Advertlets technology lets advertisers track the age, gender and profession of blog readers, a service that will help them target specific demographics and maximise their marketing dollar.

clickTRUE product manager Adrian Tan said the deal represents 'exciting opportunities for our advertisers', adding that it was too early to say how much revenue the partnership could generate although the popularity of blogs should ensure that both parties do well.

Advertlets founder Joshua Lim said clickTRUE 'is savvy with managing online campaigns across multiple platforms and has been effective in understanding advertisers' needs'.

'I see the company as the right partner to promote and grow Advertlets in Singapore.'

Advertlets has attracted big advertisers including Toyota, EMI Music and Starbucks.

SPH Magazines publishes over 90 titles including Her World, Female, Men's Health and Home and Decor.
