It's a new Weekend

The new-look Business Times Weekend offers you more content in a handy package - and prizes.

The Business Times

FROM tomorrow, The Business Times Weekend takes on a new look. After 32 years, it will be produced in a compact format half the size of this broadsheet that you're holding in your hands - but with twice the impact. We're expanding the number of pages, redesigning the overall look and feel and, most importantly, beefing up the content.

What's new

The revamped product includes a column in which CEOs and other top-guns share their views, a letter each week from a Singaporean working overseas and a corporate news focus featuring the deal of the week.

There's also a new wealth section offering insights into personal finance, investment strategies and property.

And a pull-out Living section will help you milk every dollar of your hard-earned money. It will give you a refreshing spin on dining, entertainment, shopping, travel, health and sport.

Why the change?

Why not? Lifestyles have changed - a five-day work week, more mobile weekends and a reading preference for a cross between a newspaper and a magazine. 'The changes reflect readers' current lifestyle needs,' says BT editor Alvin Tay. 'More people are now reading BT Weekend at home or on the move. Hence a more portable and zesty product for the weekend.'

Changing social trends have also brought about an increase in the number of BT copies on Saturdays. And with the revamp, the circulation of BT Weekend is expected to overtake that of the weekday edition.

Bonus for all

To give you even more reason to get BT Weekend at home every Saturday, we've come up with a sure-win subscription package. If you're one of the first 3,000 people to sign up for 52 issues at $56 (including delivery), you'll get a prize worth at least $50 in a subscriber draw. But you could be in line for a lot more.

The top two prizes in the draw are six-day and four-day getaways for two at Angsana Maldives Velavaru, worth $10,000 and $7,000 respectively. The winners can look forward to staying in a beach-front villa overlooking the spectacular Indian Ocean. The resort sits on a spacious island famed for its strikingly beautiful dive sites.

Nearer home, there are 25 one-night stays at the Angsana Bintan worth $600 to be won. For a spot of quick rejuvenation, we're also offering a trip for two to Bangkok, valued at $900, with return airfares and two nights' accommodation in Courtyard by Marriott.

If you're into fitness, then Sky Fitness's one-day fitness retreat worth $399 is definitely one of the prizes you should look out for. Enjoy complimentary use of gym facilities, full access to group exercise classes and a wellness evaluation by internationally qualified professionals, as well as a spa treatment. Sky Fitness is also extending gym memberships at $400 each to 50 subscribers.

View from the top

A complimentary Moet & Chandon Champagne Flight in a Singapore Flyer private capsule, worth $2,500, is also up for grabs. Imagine. You and 19 of your own guests could be sipping fine champagne and enjoying spectacular views of old and new Singapore during the 30-minute ride.

In addition, a Ball watch worth $4,980, a Packard Bell laptop worth $3,000 and Sony Ericsson mobile phones (G700 and G502 models) can also be won.
