SPH editor picked for key design post

SINGAPORE Press Holdings (SPH) digital media editor Felix Soh has been appointed the regional director of The Society for News Design (SND).

Mr Soh is a veteran newspaperman who has worked on The Straits Times and The Sunday Times.
He is now the media group's digital media editor for the English and Malay Newspapers Division, overseeing new media products including AsiaOne, Stomp and The Straits Times RazorTV. He is also the consulting editor of bilingual freesheet My Paper.
SND president Gayle Grin said Mr Soh 'is in an ideal position to help raise standards of design on behalf of SND as he straddles both print and new media'.
Ms Grin added that his 'passion and energy' would allow him to 'do a great job for SND. I'm so very happy he's joining our efforts in Asia'.
Mr Soh said the appointment was 'a great honour. My appointment is recognition of SPH's achievements in the media industry in the Asia-Pacific region'.
Mainboard-listed SPH publishes 17 newspapers - including The Straits Times, Asia's largest-circulation English daily - and over 100 magazines.
The SND, which has over 2,600 members in over 50 countries, was established in 1979 to strengthen visual journalism as a profession.
