SPH chief reappointed URA board chairman

His three-year term began on Wednesday.

SINGAPORE Press Holdings' chief executive Alan Chan has been reappointed chairman of the board of the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).

The URA said in a statement yesterday that Mr Chan, 56, and six other members of the board have been appointed for another three-year term, with effect from Wednesday.

Four outgoing URA board members were thanked for their service. They are: Mr Inderjit Singh, an MP for Ang Mo Kio GRC; Mr Tham Khai Meng, worldwide creative director and chairman, Worldwide Creative Council, Ogilvy and Mather Worldwide; Mr Bernard Tan Kok Kiang, DBS Bank managing director, debt capital markets; and Mr Chong Lit Cheong, International Enterprise Singapore's chief executive.

They will be replaced by four new members: Senior Counsel Tan Chee Meng, WongPartnership; Mr Anthony Kang, Dentsu Singapore president; Mr Liang Eng Hwa, an MP for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC and DBS Bank managing director, treasury and markets; and Mr Lionel Yeo, the dean and CEO of the Civil Service College and concurrently deputy secretary (development) in the Public Service Division.

Their three-year term also began on Wednesday.
