Alan Chan remains URA chairman

THE Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has reappointed Alan Chan chairman of its board of directors.

Mr Chan, who is chief executive of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), remains URA chairman for a further three years from April 1. Six other board members have also been reappointed by URA. They are: Heng Chye Kiang, dean of the School of Design and Environment at the National University of Singapore; Teh Kok Peng, president of GIC Special Investments; Cheong Koon Hean, chief executive of URA; Chan Sui Him, chairman of DP Architects and president of the Board of Architects; Mok Wei Wei, managing director of W Architects; and Ong Chong Tee, a deputy managing director at the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

In addition, four new members from diverse backgrounds have been appointed to URA's board.

They are: Tan Chee Meng, senior counsel with law firm WongPartnership; Anthony Kang, president of Dentsu Singapore; Liang Eng Hwa, a managing director at DBS Bank and Member of Parliament for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC; and Lionel Yeo, dean and CEO of the Civil Service College and a deputy secretary in the Public Service Division.
