SINGAPORE Press Holdings (SPH) has expanded its regional presence in online classifieds, search and directories businesses through a new venture in the Philippines.

Launched yesterday, the free website allows buyers and sellers to trade various things, including vehicles, properties, electronics, home and personal items.

People can also meet online to explore hobbies or seek jobs and services.

Ayosdito is a two-word Filipino phrase meaning 'Ok Here'. is managed by 701Search, a joint venture between SPH and Norwegian media group Schibsted ASA.

SPH has sought to expand its geographic footprint for online media, directories and classifieds over the past two years to spur growth.

In November 2007, 701Search launched the online classifieds website in Malaysia. This has since grown in traffic and popularity to become the No.1 classifieds site there.

In North Asia, 701Sou (Beijing) Information Technology, provides digital media services, including online and mobile search services for mainland China.

Mr Julian Tan, chief executive of 701Search, said: 'Following on our success in Malaysia and the launch in the Philippines, we will continue to identify new investment opportunities to build our portfolio and expand our regional footprint.'
